Alsace
The project was developed as a response to intel that came to be known about the characteristics of battleships planned for construction in Germany. One of the plans was a further development of the Richelieu and Gascogne classes, armed with three quadruple-gun turrets housing 380 mm guns. However, the ships were never laid down due to the French defeat in the war.
